CLARKS SUMMIT — With a harrowing anniversary as a backdrop, about 50 Northeastern Pennsylvania residents will delve into the Holocaust and its moral, ethical and daily relevance six decades later.

A six-week course starting Tuesday — and conducted in concert at places of learning throughout the world — will explore the Holocaust as a springboard to topics such as suffering, empathy and the Jewish concept of martyrdom. The educational series, “Beyond Never Again,â€? was created by the Jewish Learning Institute, a global network of adult education. Rabbi Benny Rapoport of the Jewish Discovery Center on Northern Boulevard, a JLI affiliate, will lead two different classes: one at the center and another at Marywood University, which begins Wednesday.
