Holocaust child, lifeline doll star of documentary

When he heard about the little girl who refused to be separated from her doll, even through three years in a Nazi concentration camp, Giora Gerzon knew he had the story he needed.

Gerzon, an Israeli-born filmmaker, was looking for a documentary subject that would appeal to young children and teach them the lesson of tolerance. Every child has a beloved toy, he reasoned. Full story.
