Houston Arrival of Holocaust-Era Rail Car
Survivor Interviews and Photo Opportunity

WHAT: Arrival ceremonies for acquisition of a 1942 World War II-era German railroad cattle car of the type used to carry thousands of Jews and other innocent victims to their deaths during the Holocaust. Ceremonies will include unveiling of the car and ecumenical prayers for its future as an educational tool.

Three Houston area Holocaust survivors who were transported to various concentration camps by rail during Nazi oppression will light three candles in memory of the 3 million Jews who were taken to their deaths by rail.
