STUTTGART, Germany ? Some 500 people participated in a funeral ceremony Thursday for 34 Jewish inmates of a Nazi-era forced labor camp whose remains were unearthed two months ago in a mass grave at a U.S. military base in south Germany.

Ephraim Kochba spoke at the funeral of the father whom he never knew. “I wanted to tell you about my life,” said Kochba. He said he wanted to tell his father “about the foster family that adopted me as a son in Holland, about our family’s wonderful campaign to return me to its bosom, about the home we made on the kibbutz, about a large family of children and grandchildren who live today in the independent and strong Jewish state.” more.
