Holocaust survivors in Rio de Janeiro protested Holocaust-denial statements made by the Iranian’s president.
Some 50 Jews gathered last Friday by a big menorah at the Copacabana subway station in Rio de Janeiro to protest Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s statements. Several of them showed the tattooed numbers they received on their arms during the Holocaust to passers-by.

“Denying the Holocaust is the first step to allow this tragedy to be repeated. Men of faith can’t let this happen,â€? said Aleksander Laks, president of the Rio Holocaust Survivors Association.

During the ceremony, six candles were lit to honor the 6 million Jews killed during the Holocaust and the Mourner’s Kaddish was recited.
