OSCE Chair to commemorate Holocaust victims in Brussels Friday

/ A commemorative event for the victims of the Holocaust will take place at Egmont Palace in Brussels, on Holocaust Day, 27 January, at 14.30.

The event is part of the efforts of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), chaired in 2006 by Belgium, to promote tolerance and non-discrimination in the OSCE region.

At the event, the OSCE’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Authority/Israel, will launch their “Guidelines on preparing Holocaust Memorial Days for Educators”. Established in 1953, Yad Vashem is dedicated to Holocaust commemoration, documentation, research and education.
