A holocaust’s tale with an innate touch

In celebration of Hungarian culture and art, ‘Fateless’, a Hungarian movie by Imre Kertesz was screened at the recently concluded Hungarian Cultural Week held at the South Indian Film Chamber theatre.

The film, based on the semi-autobiographical Nobel prize winning novel, ‘Sorstalansag�, unveils the gruesome saga of a young Jew, Gyuri Koves. Several movies were made reeling out of the vindictive history of Holocaust, but this film stands out because of its innate touch, especially in the dialogues, owing to Kertesz’ first hand experience as a camp survivor of the heroic tale.
