LA VERGNE — Holocaust survivors Eva and Eric Rosenfeld want teens to know how the Jewish couple escaped Nazi Germany but still lost family members.

“This isn’t really the end of my story,” 80-year-old Eric Rosenfeld told a packed La Vergne High School classroom. “I’m here to bear witness of what happened.”

“We’re a dying breed,” 79-year-old Eva Rosenfeld said after reading her speech to students in Tim Roediger’s social studies class.

The couple mesmerized the teens by telling them about Nazi persecution and how 6 million Jews, including 1.5 million children, were killed by the end of World War II. MORE.
