At 17, Kuba Beck lived in a Polish concentration camp struggling daily to stay alive.

“When the war started, I was 17. It was 1939. And my wife was 15,” Beck said. “It was terrible from hunger to hygienic conditions. We had very little food. We were dying from hunger.”

At 83, the Holocaust survivor told his story to today’s teens. He recently spoke at Pope John Paul II High School in Boca Raton. The school devoted an entire day to Holocaust education.
