ISHPEMING — Seventh graders at C.L. Phelps in Ishpeming are once again taking a stand against indifference and stereotyping.

The students Wednesday presented the 10th annual Holocaust Memorial Museum to students from their own school as well as the fifth graders from Aspen Ridge School who visited the museum with their teachers.

“The students become the teachers during our annual Holocaust Memorial Museum,â€? said Carole Turner, a seventh grade language arts and history teacher at C.L. Phelps who helped first introduce the Holocaust museum project into the school’s curriculum. “Each seventh grader chooses a person or event significant to the Holocaust and studies this topic for three months before creating a display for the museum. They must understand the topic well enough to answer questions asked about their topic.â€?
