Holocaust Seder Honors Anniversary
By JEFF FEINMAN
Queensborough Community College planned to hold a Holocaust Passover Seder that would focus on the liberation of the Jewish people from the concentration camps in Nazi Germany, with such themes to be incorporated into the traditional homage to the exodus of the Jewish slaves from Egypt.
The Seder was scheduled to be held at the Young Israel of Kew Garden Hills on Thursday, April 6, at 11:30 a.m., about a week before the Passover holiday begins.
âPart of our job here is to educate, and what we wanted to do is bring everyoneâs attention to this part of history,â? said QCC Holocaust Center Executive Director Arthur Flug. âSixty years ago, men and women emerging from the devastation of the Holocaust met to celebrate Passover. What emerged has come to be known as the Holocaust Freedom Seder.â?
