Nevadans will be remembering the Holocaust later this month.

The Days of Remembrance have been set-aside for state residents to remember Holocaust victims and reflect on the need for respect of all people, Gov. Kenny Guinn said in a proclamation. The observance is planned April 23-30.

The history of the Holocaust “offers an opportunity to reflect on the moral responsibilities of individuals, societies, and governments,” Guinn said. “It is important for the citizens of the state of Nevada to remember the terrible events of the Holocaust and remain vigilant against hatred, persecution, and tyranny. We the people of the state of Nevada should actively rededicate ourselves to the principles of individual freedom in a just society.”
