Performance honors Holocaust

OSU Students play detainees in a concentration camp in the play “Just One More Dance,â€? which is being performed at the Corvallis High School theater next week.

After the Allies liberated Europe from Nazi control during World War II, Czech Jew and concentration camp survivor Ernst Levy began to pick up the pieces of his broken life. But those pieces were jagged and painful to grasp.

“Nearly half of his family was killed in the camps, including an older brother who was forced by Hungarian Fascists to dig his own grave before he was shot,â€? said Scott Palmer, OSU faculty member and production director.

The puzzle of Levy’s life had been shaken apart, but he was alive, and he chose to share his story with the world.
