Students remember Holocaust victims

ROACHDALE — The flame of a Nazi prisoner of war kindled brightly Monday as North Putnam Middle School seventh-graders continued the six year legacy of the “Holocaust Reflections Program.â€?

The program was created in honor of Mike Vogel, who died in 2000.

“I had a Holocaust program every year in my class for 13 years,â€? teacher Ron Price said. “After Mike Vogel died that left a void and we decided to do something that would honor his memory and the Holocaust victims.â€?

The pilot program succeeded as the pupils eagerly learned their lines of reflections on the Nazi cruelty to Jews — to victims like Mike Vogel and Ann Frank.
