Caloosa Middle School today surpassed its goal of collecting 6 million yellow Stars of David in memory of victims of the Holocaust.

Principal Brian Mangan made a special announcement over the Cape Coral school’s public-address system at 10 a.m. to mark the occasion.

“Teachers, please pardon this interruption for a very special announcement,” he said. “I have some very special news to share with you. As of 9:05 this morning, Caloosa Middle was successful in helping Ms. (Darya) Grote and her eighth-grade language arts classes realize their 6 million Holocaust: We Remember star goal.”
