MONROE, nj – From literary to literal, from history to their story, the Chabad Jewish Center of Monroe has set this year’s goal for the new Holocaust Resource Center.

Rabbi Eliezer Zaklikovsky hopes to videotape the personal accounts of local Holocaust survivors to add to the more than 1,000 books the center already includes.

“Recognizing that there’s a unique contribution that the Holocaust survivors have made to our community, and this could be a lesson for future generations, we need to maximize its potential in creating a way that their stories will be passed on and become alive for the children of the up-and-coming generation,” he said.

Zaklikovsky has organized a concert to raise money for the project, which he said will need professional videographers, crews, proper equipment and a studio for recording the interviews
