Holocaust survivor recalls Anne Frank’s legacy

A stunning production of “The Diary of Anne Frank” at Staples High
School (playing through June 8 and 9) is now doing what great theater does so effectively – leaving its appreciative audiences disquieted and moved.

Last Sunday, in a special added feature, the audience and the entire cast were treated to what felt like a second production, a double feature if you will, as Jack Polak, a 93-year-old Dutch Holocaust survivor and the Chairman Emeritus of The Anne Frank Center USA, visited the theater for a talk-back. Polak shared his impressions of the play and provided an eyewitness account of the horrors perpetrated by the Nazi regime and the lessons learned from the years of terror.
