“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

-Edward George Lytton

That famous quote was the central theme of a presentation to young students by a Holocaust survivor.

In a powerful anti-bullying message to school children, Dr. Eva Olsson was talking to students from Grades 5 through 8 at Pope John Paul II Catholic School in Lindsay on Friday.

After a recent presentation at an unnamed high school, Dr. Olsson said a Grade 10 boy came up to her and said, “I don’t want to be a Nazi anymore.”

“His father was a well-known Neo-Nazi in that community,” she said. “I can just imagine the conversation between father and son – ‘Don’t believe that old lady; it (the Holocaust) never happened.”
