Holocaust survivors “Café Europaâ€? to meet

Holocaust survivors residing in Miami-Dade County will meet on Thursday, July 14, 2005 for a special Café Europa luncheon, a unique social and cultural activity. Charlotte Held, Co-Chair, says that more than 200 guests are expected to attend the event. Rabbi Eliot H. Pearlson of Temple Menorah will address the gathering.

“This is the second Café Europa event we’ve hosted in Miami,â€? said Joe Sachs, president of The Miami-Dade Holocaust Survivors, Inc. (MDHS). “This is an extraordinary occasion, an opportunity to connect with others of similar backgrounds. Guests are invited to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Allied liberation of Nazi concentration camps, and to welcome returning Miami residents who recently journeyed to Poland on a ‘March of the Living.’â€?

The afternoon will include lunch, dessert, music, entertainment and opportunities to socialize. Catering is by Gourmet Kosher, under KOF-K kosher supervision.

Café Europa is a worldwide social program sponsored locally by the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany. Jewish Community Services of South Florida, Inc. (JCS) works with The Miami-Dade Holocaust Survivors, Inc. to share this program with Miami-Dade survivors.
