Next Generations has announced its 2006-2007 film series.  An organization of children and grandchildren of Holocaust Survivors, Next Generations operates under the aegis the League for Educational Awareness of the Holocaust (LEAH).

The first film of the series, Undying Love, by filmmaker Helene Klodawsky, the daughter of a death camp survivor, explores the healing power of love in a richly textured retelling of several mysterious love stories from survivors of the holocaust.  Next Generations will show the film Wednesday, Oct. 11.  The Consulate General of Canada in Miami underwrote the production of this film.

Next in the series is The Phoenix Effect, a feature length documentary, produced, written and directed by Sharyn Blumenthal, explores the common and unique experiences of second generation Holocaust Survivors who grew up in Vineland, N.J.  The film will be shown Wednesday, Dec. 6, and Ms. Blumenthal will be present to conduct a discussion following the film.

Just A Link, directed by Frederic Dumont, will complete Next Generations 2006-2007 film series.  Just a Link is part of the story of the Jewish Defense Committee that was created by Ghert Jospa, Maurice Heiber, & Chiam Perelman.  In setting up a vast network of mutual aid and forged documents, these three men did their utmost, until the end of the war, to counter the relentless hunt for Jews. The film will be shown Wednesday. Feb. 7, 2007.  All films will be shown at 7 p.m. in the Amarnick-Goldstein Concert Hall, Lynn University, 3601 Military Trail, Boca Raton.
