CHICAGO JEWISH COMMUNITY ON LINE

Some 500 Chicago young people–ranging from college students to young professionals and high level executives–are committing to read one essay related to Judaism and Jewish life per day for 60 days beginning on Oct. 23. The learning commitment is meant to connect young people today to individual victims of the Holocaust, says Rabbi Zev Kahn, director of JET, an independent, nonprofit Jewish outreach organization that is bringing the 60 Days for 6 Million program to Chicago. The program, which was originated in London by Tribe–the young people’s arm of the centrist Orthodox body of British Jewry–will be launched in major cities across the world in October.
