PERSONS OF THE YEAR HARRIET & KENNETH KUPFERBERG: 30 Years Of Service An Invaluable Gift

By MATT HAMPTON

Harriet Kupferberg, raised in Flushing, embodies the noble spirit of philanthropy as well as any Queens resident could. Kupferberg, and her late husband Kenneth, were instrumental in the formation and upkeep of Queensboro Community College’s Holocaust Resource Center, which was renamed and dedicated in their honor in preparation for its new facility, which will open its doors in 2008.

Thanks to the time Harriet invested as the Chair of the Kupferberg Center Fundraising Committee, and the $1 million she invested as its largest single donor, the Kupferberg Holocaust Resource Center has sealed its future as a valuable tool of enlightenment against prejudice.
