The Living Room at Jewish Family Service of Bergen County invites
you to join us for our Second Generation group, a monthly seminar
and discussion group for children of Holocaust survivors. This
month’s topic will be “From Generation to Generation: Exploring the
Transmission of Legacy and Memory to the Third Generation and
Beyond.” Presentation and discussion led by Karen Shawn, PhD.
Thursday, February 8, 7 – 8:30 pm. The Living Room at Jewish Family
Service of Bergen County, 1485 Teaneck Rd, Teaneck, NJ.

Dr. Shawn is an adjunct professor of Holocaust literature and
education at Yeshiva University. She served for 10 years on the
staff of Yad Vashem’s Summer Institute and is the educational
consultant for the American Friends of the Ghetto Fighters Museum.
She has written extensively on Holocaust education and is currently
co-editing The Call of Memory: Learning about the Holocaust through
Narrative. She is the recipient of several fellowships and awards,
including a 2000 Covenant Award for outstanding Jewish educators in
North America.
