Wales remembers holocaust victims

People from all walks of life will meet at City Hall, Cardiff, on Thursday to remember the millions who lost their lives, as well as those who survived, in the Nazi Holocaust.

The theme is The Dignity of Difference, which encourages people to look at what we learn from the Holocaust about the consequences of exclusion based on people’s differences.

Representatives from schools throughout the city will participate in the service, which will include interdenominational readings and prayers. A candle will be lit in memory of the victims of genocide during the service, which will be led by The Reverend Stewart Lisk.

Cardiff County and the Vale of Glamorgan Youth Orchestra and Youth Choir will give performances during the service while dignitaries will lay official wreaths of remembrance.

Mr Alan Schwartz, MBE, Chairman of the South Wales Jewish Representative Committee will join Reverend Lisk to give a departing Levitical Blessing.
