Holocaust survivor shares experience with students

SOUTH STREATOR — David Faber lost his mother and father, five sisters and a brother to Nazi soldiers, but he still considers himself a lucky man.

“I am considered one of the luckiest survivors around the world,” Faber told junior high and high school students at Woodland School Monday.

Faber still has photographs of some of his family members, something considered impossible for most survivors of the Holocaust because they had to flee or were taken from their homes, usually with only the clothes on their backs.
