Essay deadline extended
By TaMaryn Waters

The deadline for submitting entries in a Holocaust essay contest for school students has been extended to April 20.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners, and Holocaust survivors will be speaking to students next month. The deadline originally was Monday.

It’s open to elementary, middle and high school students throughout the Leon County school district. The contest is meant to challenge students to think about the results of hatred and prejudice during the Holocaust and to ensure that another Holocaust won’t happen.
