NORRISTOWN – It was July 19, 1942, when 11-year-old Lily Redner’s childhood came to an abrupt halt. Seated at the breakfast table with her parents and four sisters, she had no way of knowing the outcome when a team of French soldiers invaded her home and took her mother and father away. She never heard from them again.

For Redner, who now resides in Montgomery County with her husband, Alex, the memory of that morning, as well as the remainder of World War II, plays out vividly in her mind again and again.
The Redners shared their experiences of the Holocaust at the Montgomery County Historical Society on Saturday as part of the museum’s special exhibit, “Our Stories: Remembrances of World War II.”
