Tears and prayers accompanied the recollection when the community paid tribute to the deceased and the living during a Holocaust memorial day at Temple Sholom of Flatbush.

The poignant Yom Hashoah program featured sobering accounts from survivors, which brought tears to the eyes of mourners, many of whom were second and third generation relatives.

The congregation participated in a candle lighting ceremony to hail the memory of the dead and joined voices for the Kaddish.
