Files put faces to Holocaust millions

A FADING photograph showing a chubby two-year-old girl and a single-page Red Cross document are the only clues that Chana Meiri has about her past.

“That is all I have, the only information about where I came from and who my parents might be,” said the 66-year-old grandmother, who is one of hundreds of thousands of orphans separated from their parents during the Holocaust and whose identity is still a mystery more than 60 years on from the Second World War.
