MENTONE – Only 11 years old at the time, Bill Meyer was sent to Westerbork and then Vught concentration camps for helping Jews during World War II.
He spent 1942 to 1944 in the camps, just trying to survive. Except for two sisters, his family had been murdered by the Nazis for Meyer’s efforts. His father had warned him not to get involved.
