WORCESTER— Max Michelson, who survived the liquidation of the Riga ghetto, a Nazi concentration camp, and months of slave labor that left him all but dead, has a message for Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

“The Holocaust was no theory,” Mr. Michelson said last night at the College of the Holy Cross, referring to Mr. Ahmadinejad’s comment that Hitler’s attempt to annihilate Europe’s Jews is a historical theory. “They killed off my family, my friends, practically everyone in Riga. It happened. Those who deny it for selfish, political reasons, they are liars.”

He recounted his harrowing and extraordinary survival experiences that for him began as a 16-year-old boy when Germany invaded Russia and the Baltic countries in the summer of 1941.
