Some 1,000 people of civic groups gathered in Budapest on Sunday to remember Holocaust victims on the 63rd anniversary of a WWII Nazi takeover in Hungary that led to thousands of deaths, MTI News Agency reported.

Marking Oct. 15, 1944, the date Hungary’s Arrow Cross (Nazi) movement took over the country, Methodist Minister Gabor Ivanyi warned that as generations go by, memories tire and people again start to discriminate, allowing the monster responsible for the killings to resurface.
