El Paso, TX. January 21, 2008. The El Paso Holocaust Museum & Study Center will welcome Boston artist Fay Grajower at a private reception on Thursday, January 31, 2008. Ms Grajower’s exhibit, “Out of the Flames” will be the debut exhibit in the Museum’s new facility which will open on January 27, 2008. The exhibit will open to the public beginning February 1 and continue through March 15, 2008. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
The event comes more than six and a half years after the original Museum was gutted by an electrical fire that destroyed priceless artifacts and exhibits.
The Museum will be the principal institution of Holocaust remembrance and education in the Borderland area. Sixty years after the Holocaust, racial and religious intolerance and hatred remain vital issues in our world affecting everyone. ~ Stories heard, facts read will all come to life as the horrors of the Holocaust unfold before them.
Additionally, the El Paso Museum is a place where children will learn about the Holocaust and understand the struggle, hope and courage of the victims and survivors.
