Von Trapp Descendants (Sound of Music) to visit Holocaust Museum Houston
Von Trapp Children to Visit Holocaust Museum Houston
The real great-grandchildren of the von Trapp family, whose story captivated the world in the musical “The Sound of Music,” will visit Holocaust Museum Houston on Friday, July 18, 2008 for a guided tour and media photo opportunity.
The original Captain Georg Ritter von Trapp fled Austria with his family during World War II rather than accept a commission in the German Navy. Their story, as told in such beloved and widely known songs as “So Long, Farewell” and “My Favorite Things”, was immortalized in the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical.
The von Trapps will be in Houston to perform with the Houston Symphony the following day, Saturday, July 19, 2008, at Jones Hall.
