Only 2 MKs show up at meeting on Holocaust victims

By Tomer Zarchin

Only one of the Knesset Constitution Committee’s 12 members bothered to join its chairman at yesterday’s session, which was called to discuss a report submitted by the Company for Restitution of Holocaust Victims’ Assets.

Several articles published in Haaretz in recent months have aired complaints about the company’s efforts to locate and return assets, as well as the way it allocates money to survivors when the assets’ heirs cannot be found. Nevertheless, only MK Avraham Michaeli (Shas) joined committee chairman David Rotem (Yisrael Beiteinu) to hear the company’s report.
