The International Conference on Holocaust Era Assets which will take place in Prague this coming week constitutes one of the last opportunities for Holocaust survivors to be afforded at least a measure of justice. The American Gathering of Jewish Holocaust Survivors and Their Descendants is gratified that Secretary of State Clinton has appointed Ambassador Stuart Eizenstat to head the U.S. delegation to this conference. Ambassador Eizenstat is a man of the highest integrity and dedication to the cause of Holocaust remembrance who has our complete confidence. During the Clinton administration, he negotiated landmark agreements with Swiss, German, French, Austrian and other European governments that resulted in multi-billion dollars in compensation and restitution for Holocaust survivors. We are certain that Ambassador Eizenstat will promote and defend the interests of the survivors to the fullest at the Prague Conference and beyond.
