For most of his life, Abe Besser was one of the silent survivors of the Holocaust, not speaking openly about his experiences in the camps. “You cannot imagine the atrocities,” said Besser.
Eventually Besser broke his silence, and on Sunday nearly 500 people attended the dedication of the Besser Holocaust Memorial Garden at the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta Dunwoody campus. The occasion was recognized as Abe Besser Day.
