A woman who complained after a newspaper claimed she engaged in ‘Nazi behaviour’ has had her case resolved by the Press Complaints Commission. Patricia Bailey complained the London Evening Standard had published an article which said she had marched up and down outside her home while making a Nazi salute and mock Hitler moustache with her hands. She said this was a wholly inaccurate description of video evidence shown in court which had actually shown her gesturing upwards towards a bird hut at the property while talking to her husband on her mobile phone. The newspaper said the article reported how the footage had been interpreted in court – but accepted there could be other explanations for the behaviour seen on the recording.
