VIENNA — An Austrian court has convicted six people of chanting Nazi slogans and making Hitler salutes.The court in the town of Leoben gave the two women and four men sentences Friday ranging from 6 months probation to a year behind bars.The accused, aged 20 to 26, blamed their actions on peer pressure and being drunk.The court found four guilty of shouting “Heil Hitler” and making Hitler salutes in downtown Leoben in June and determined that three had shouted Nazi slogans in a bar in the town of Liezen six months later.
