Back in February, Leslie Schwartz was in the midst of an unexpected flurry of fame. He wrote a memoir about his experiences as a prisoner in Auschwitz and Dachau. A Bavarian television crew filmed a documentary about him. German newspapers picked up the story and he spent six months traveling around Germany speaking to students and adults, who were mesmerized by the story of how he survived. Now the documentary is about to premiere and the memoir is about to be published in English. But Schwartz, who lives part time in western Boynton Beach, got one more unexpected gift.
